Photoshoot Locations Around Kitchener-Waterloo Ontario

William Scott Park, New Hamburg
One of the first questions you may ask your photographer is:
"What locations do you suggest?"
I personally LOVE when clients show me new spots but I like to offer a plethora of suggestions when asked. Even if I'm not personally working with you this list can still help you get an idea of some locations! This is by no means a list of all the locations in the KW area, I see potential photo shoots every time I'm out and about it seems! (Hello, side of back country road sessions?)

Fellow photographers please feel free to comment links to your locations/work in the comment section! Anyone can use this as a resource for shoot locations.
How to find the locations? Clicking on location will open new window!

ALSO: Here's a quick link to my KW PHOTOSHOOT LOCATION Pinterest Board with even more locations!!

Family Sessions- What to Expect

Welcome! This is going to be my first blog so please, excuse how awful it is. I thought I would start by giving you an idea of what you can expect during a typical family session with me! On location family sessions are meant to be casual while still capturing those posed shots. I like to take candid shots of family enjoying their time together and I have a bad habit of taking too many pictures! I've been known to say "just one more" a time or two... A full family session will typically last at least an hour depending on weather and willingness of the subjects. I also have over 5 years experience in the early childhood education field and that definitely helps when it comes to the littles! Full Sessions will include more than one "setting", we'll walk around a park or area as opposed to staying in one spot during a mini session.  Speaking of weather, don't let overcast/drizzly days scare you! They can produce beautiful images. When sched

What to wear for your photoshoot

Sometimes you know exactly what you want to wear for an upcoming photoshoot, and sometimes.... you haven't a single clue. Here are a couple tips I've picked up over the years. First of all, be true to you You don't want to look back at your pictures and wonder who those people are, so stay true to you and your style. If you have your heart set on something or a vision for the space you are using the images in- go with it. The following are only personal suggestions and not any sort of rules of what to wear. You should also be comfortable with what you are wearing- especially if a photo session is new to you. Accessorize Adding accessories can help make an image more interesting, or add coordination between outfits. You can play off accessory colours for instance matching a scarf to someone else's shirt or dress Some examples include: Scarves Hats Jewelry Boots Suspenders Jackets/Ponchos Colours If doing a family session, you do not have to get match
